Southampton should be looking to shore up their defence, given that they have let in an average of 2.43 goals per game this season. Southampton have only managed to bring home five points from their games on the road. Gaining nine points from 14 games has led Southampton to the undesirable position of being at risk of relegation. But the most-honest assessment would be that it has been utterly deficient, given they have conceded 34 goals in the course of the season. Southampton have lost nine times this season. And so, with just two wins coupled with three draws, the outlook is decidedly gloomy. Southampton have managed to gain only four points in their last five games.

Newcastle find themselves tested next by Burnley. Southampton are up the same day against West Ham United.
